Every fashionable plant-based dieter loves a good soy milk Chai Latte. If you don’t, you obviously haven’t sampled the right kind. That is why I went on a Chai Latte World Tour! And I compiled this list for all my lovely readers out there to aid in your very own grand Chai Latte adventure.
WHAT IS A CHAI LATTE?
Chai Tea + Cinnamon + Soy Milk = the perfection known as a Chai Latte
Basically, it’s a frothy beverage with a kick of cinnamon to it. It’s got a variety of other spices in it, too, and it’s downright delicious. Order it hot! It doesn’t taste as good iced.
WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH THE FACE PLANT PROJECT, OR VEGANS, OR EVEN VEGETARIANS?
Good question. I’m writing about Chai Lattes because:
A) They’re all the rage in the plant-based diet sphere
B) If zombies attacked, I’d first and foremost be concerned about how and when I could get my Chai Latte fix, and
C) Chai Lattes are a gateway drug to everything that is good and holy about the vegetarian world. Chai Lattes will turn you on to cinnamon, tea, strange spices, and soy milk. If you’re not fond of soy milk, start with Chai Lattes. Soy is an acquired taste, and you need to start with something as delicious as this concoction when making the switch.
WHO HAS THE BEST CHAI LATTES?
- Honolulu Coffee Company
- Elevate Coffee Company
This list will grow. Basically, find your local, offbeat coffeehouse and try out their Chai Lattes as if you’re Anthony Bourdain and they’re some middle eastern country with strange food.
WHO HAS THE WORST CHAI LATTES?
- Starbucks. Their Chai Lattes taste strange, not like Chai Lattes should. Watery, almost. Go with a Vanilla Latte instead, because these people haven’t mastered the Art of Chai.
- Seattle’s Best. One swig of this Chai Latte and I nearly handed it back. But, good manners prevailed and I suffered through the rest of the Latte with scathing adjectives running through my head. Conclusion? Chai Lattes are known for their interesting mix of spices, but Seattle’s Best was overdoing it with the exotic spices. I think I tasted a hint of nutmeg and salt in my drink, but I can’t be sure. All I know was that it was a disaster. Avoid at all costs!
Where else should be considered in my Chai Latte World Tour?
